How to read the status pills
This is not a government site. It is an independent, public-interest index. We never replace the official source; every category links straight back to it. The status pill tells you at a glance what to trust.
- Live maintained and current
- Dated real, but the latest figures are old
- Stale, no live feed poorly maintained, nothing machine-readable

Housing finance and schemes
Zero-deposit mortgages for public servants, stamp duty relief, and a new US$20 million housing facility. All real, but spread across separate announcements with no single summary.
See the detail and sources
The official sourceThe Saint Lucia Development Bank (sldb.lc) and Government of Saint Lucia announcements (govt.lc) set and publish the home-loan schemes and housing facilities. The schemes are real, but the announcements sit across separate news posts and SLDB product pages, with no single up-to-date summary and no open data feed.
Our versionWe consolidate the schemes into two plain-English pages, dated and sourced. Verified facts: 100% NIC-guaranteed mortgages for public servants plus EC$1,000 toward legal fees; no stamp duty on the first EC$400,000 of a qualifying residential mortgage; and the US$20 million (about EC$54 million at EC$2.70 = US$1, one facility, not two) Taiwan EximBank facility via SLDB for low and middle income build or improve and for climate-resilient infrastructure, terms finalised November 2025, signing announced by the Office of the Prime Minister in August 2026, application terms not yet published. See Affordability and Government help.

Property and land
No public price index, no open data, and planning records offline. Today you have to piece a property's value together yourself.
See the detail and sources
The official sourceThe Land Registry (parcels and tenure), the Development Control Authority (planning approvals), and the National Housing Corporation (serviced lots). There is no public property price index, no open API, and planning data is not available online. To value anything you must piece it together from private agency listings and paper records.
Our versionAn independent property price index and a full listings browse, island-wide, built from public listings and each carrying its source and capture date. See the market data, the island map and Buy. Buying? Start with the title check.

Economy and people
The census and poverty data are authoritative, but old: district poverty from 2016, the housing-deficit baseline from 2014. Newer surveys are pending.
See the detail and sources
The official sourceThe Central Statistics Office (stats.gov.lc): the census, income and poverty data, and the Survey of Living Conditions and Household Budget Survey (SLC-HBS). The office is real and the data is authoritative, but the latest published figures are old. District poverty data dates to 2016 and the housing-deficit baseline to 2014; newer survey results are pending. Nothing is offered as a machine-readable feed.
Our versionWe track and date these figures, cite the exact vintage, and flag each one when it is superseded. We publish no number the office has not published; where data is missing, we report it as missing.

Resilience and climate
A building code and resilient-infrastructure funding exist, but there is no home-by-home resilience standard a buyer or lender can read off a property.
See the detail and sources
The official sourceThe national building code, and the climate-resilient infrastructure written into the new EximBank facility (drainage, water storage and solar power). The code and the facility exist, but there is no public, home-by-home resilience standard a buyer or lender can read off a property.
Our versionThe Saint Lucia Resilience Rating, a 1 to 5 standard for wind, water and ground risk, applied to homes and explained in the open. See the rating ladder and the methodology.

Government and protocol
The Governor General site is a stale single-page app with no live feed, but the constitutional roles it lists are reliable. We keep one clean, dated reference.
See the detail and sources
The official sourceThe Office of the Governor General (governorgeneral.govt.lc): the constitutional roles of the office and the record of who holds it. The site is a custom single-page app with no robots file, sitemap or API (each of those URLs just returns the HTML index). The footer copyright reads 2015, the honours page still says "Queen", and the named office-holder is out of date. The constitutional roles text itself, however, is structural and reliable.
Our versionOne clean, dated, correctly styled reference. Current fact: the Acting Governor General is His Excellency Mr Felix Finisterre, effective 1 August 2026, after Sir Errol Charles demitted office on 31 July 2026. Citable constitutional roles: Emergency Powers (section 14), Summoning, Prorogation and Dissolution of Parliament (sections 54 to 55), the Prerogative of Mercy (section 74), and Royal Assent as the final gate on legislation.
That is the full set we can verify. If a category is missing here, we could not source it cleanly yet. Corrections and additions: methodology and contact.
The same standard, everywhere
Every entry follows the rule the rest of this index follows: a verified fact carries its source URL and the date we checked it, unpublished detail is marked as unpublished, and nothing is invented. Where the official source is the best version, we send you to it. Where it is stale or closed, we keep a cleaner copy and date it, so the public record stays usable.
We update each category as the government sources publish more. Status pills reflect the state on the checked date shown on each card.
